As the principal legal architect, Blackett takes us behind the scene to show us how Convention No. 189 transgresses the everyday law of the household workplace to embrace domestic worker’s human rights claim to be workers like any other – and like no other. She discusses the importance of historical forms of invisibility, recognizes the influence of the domestic workers themselves and wages in poignant experiences, infusing the discussions of laws and standards with a sense of intimacy and sophistication.
