Online (on Zoom)
CRIMT, in collaboration with the Canadian Industrial Relations Association, invites you to the launch of the edited volume New Dialogues and Emerging Conversations in Industrial Relations, published by Les Presses de l’Université Laval (PUL).
Co-edited by Jason Foster (Athabasca University – CRIMT), Patrice Jalette (Université de Montréal – CRIMT), Wassila Merkouche (UQAT – CRIMT), and Yao Yao (McMaster University), this volume speaks directly to the shared priorities of CRIMT and CIRA : renewing the analysis of work by fostering dialogue across disciplines, contexts, and actors.
Through a series of dialogues and original contributions, this book explores new ways of thinking about industrial relations. It brings together generations, disciplines, and experiences to better understand the evolving nature of work and shed light on its many dimensions. Combining theoretical analysis with empirical research, it highlights emerging perspectives that renew the field’s analytical frameworks. In doing so, the volume offers reflections grounded in contemporary realities while opening up a space for discussion on the future trajectories of work, its institutions, and the actors who shape them.
The webinar will be structured around four main themes reflecting the book’s chapters:
• Current and persistent challenges in the world of work
• Toward more equitable, diverse, and inclusive (EDI) workplaces
• The future of unions, between renewal and adaptation
• Dialogues on the past, present, and future of industrial relations
It will feature the book’s co-editors as well as several contributing authors:
